Barely three weeks after forming an alliance between the PDP and 38 other political parties to field single presidential candidate in 2019, the Coalition of United Political Parties
(CUPP) has opened its office in Abuja on Thursday.
The new secratariat, located at 13, Thaba Tseka Street, Wuse District, Abuja, was formally used by the Ahmed Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee of the PDP during the legal tussle that engulfed the party.
CUPP is a coalition of 39 political parties namely the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Labour Party (LP) among others.
Confirming the development at a dinner in honour of APC National Assembly members in Abuja, PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, said the secretariat will be a one-stop shop for all the political parties that signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The opening of the secretariat underscores the seriousness the coalition attaches to their resolve to unseat President Buhari.
Among those who attended the Some of the event were the PDP national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, his Action Peoples Party (APP) counterpart, Ikenga Ugochiyere, Social Democratic Party (SDP) national chairman, Chief Olu Falae and national chairmen of the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC), Alhaji Buba Galadima.
Others were Professor Tunde Adeniran, Chief Godson Okoye, Senator Liyel Imoke and Abduljalil Tafawa Balewa amongst others.
